Wexford Enterprise Centre prepares to ease restrictions on access

Ahead of the easing of Government restrictions, Wexford Enterprise Centre is implementing new guidelines for tenant companies, their guests and the general public wishing to enter the premises. From Monday, 29 June, public access to the Centre will resume for the first time since March 23. Entrance to Wexford Enterprise Centre is restricted to the main reception area only, where anyone can gain access to the Centre once they sanitise their hands and undergo a non-invasive temperature check before entering. These health and safety protocols were introduced on March 12 as part of Stage 2 of WEC’s 5-STEP Business Continuity Plan.

In addition to the continued hygiene and temperature practices, a movement-flow system within the 60,000 square feet building, as well the instillation of mirrors at key corridor junction points have been installed to assist in social distancing measures. The Centre Point Café and various meeting rooms will reopen to the general public on Thursday, 9 July 2020 under health and wellbeing guidelines.

The potential adverse impact of the COVID-19 outbreak to businesses located at WEC was flagged in advance of the government restrictions and procedures and information were promptly distributed. Increased hygiene practices, guidelines and facemasks were issued to tenant companies on March 2 as the first step of a 5-STEP proactive COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan which anticipated the escalation of the spread of the virus and the subsequent restrictions that would be implemented in order to contain the rate of infection. This proactive plan addressed and minimised the potential impact the restrictions would place on WEC tenant companies and their staff, which totals over 150.

Wexford Enterprise moves to Stage 3.5 of the Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan

With further government restrictions on the movement of people not involved in the provision of ‘essential services’, any company whose services or products are not included in the Government’s list of ‘essential services’, will unfortunately no longer be able to gain access to Wexford Enterprise Centre.

Wexford Enterprise moves to Stage 3 of the Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan

Following the substantial increase in the rate of infection within the general public, Wexford Enterprise Centre has decided to move to Stage 3 of the Business Continuity Plan effectively immediately.

Going forward, it will be necessary to restrict entry into Wexford Enterprise Centre to tenants and their staff only. As all entry and exit doors, including shutter doors, must now be locked at all times. Each tenant will be responsible for getting their staff in and out of the building. Anyone unlocking the main reception door, which continues to be the only point of entry, must ensure that it is locked again after them. In addition, anyone excepting a delivery, must make arrangements to meet the delivery agent outside of the building, as they will not be allowed to enter.

Wexford Enterprise moves to Stage 2 of the Covid-19 Business Continuity Plan

Following today’s government announcement of restrictions imposed to restrict the escalation of the Covid-19 virus, Wexford Enterprise Centre will move to implement Stage 2 of the Business Continuity Plan.

From Monday, 16 March, WEC will now only be open weekdays from 8am to 6pm. Access to the building will not be permitted outside this time without written consent from management. Effective immediately, entrance to the building will be through the main reception only at which point, a non-invasive temperature check will be conducted. It is also necessary to cancel all training courses and Meeting Room bookings and to close the Centre Point Café until further notice. While visitors will still be allowed into the building under Stage 2 guidelines, tenants are encouraged to eliminate all unnecessary travel and to move to phone or video link-based meetings if possible.

In addition to the operational changes implemented in Stage 1 on March 2 which included increasing the number of hand-sanitising dispensing points throughout the building and increasing its cleaning and disinfecting schedules, access into Wexford Enterprise Centre will now be through the main reception only.

Wexford Enterprise issues 5-Step Business Continuity Plan in anticipation of the spread of Covid-19

In response to the first reported case of Covid-19 in Ireland, a 5-Step Business Continuity Plan was issued to all resident businesses located in Wexford Enterprise Centre in anticipation of possible government restrictions which may be imposed in an effort to help curb the escalation of the virus.

As a result, all 32 resident businesses were issued with:
• A personnel planning sheet – detailing basic protective and procedural measures, as advised by the WHO, for companies to consider implementing to help protect their staff.
• A Business Continuity sheet – detailing basic policy and procedural measures suggest by the Business Continuity Institute to support and protect businesses from the economic impact that could occur should the virus spread.
• Face masks.
